| Viestin otsikko: | Rahka and carbs |
I apologize if this is something that's been covered already on this site but I can't find what I'm looking for.. I'd like to introduce some dairy to my diet... I used to drink kefir (piima just doesn't taste the same) in Canada (helped with digestion) but I can't find it here. I'm wonderig how many of you actually count the carbs in rahka. Do you consider it a product (like kefir) that is low in carbs since the bacteria has eaten alot of the lactose by the time we consume it? Thanks again to one of this site's members who explained to me how I was to read the Finnish food content labels...ie..the carbs stated on the label *is* the net carbs. Am I to read the rahka label in the same way, that "they" (whoever they may be!) has given the total number of carbs in rahka as the ones remaining after lactose reduction? Thanks! Cory |

Yes, you should read the rahka label the same way as you've learned -sorry But there are some products (piimä, yogurt, juices) that has for instance lactobacillus GG (sort of bacterium). But I've never considered that it would change the way of counting carbs The list of such products (by Valio) you'll find from here |

I have rahka and berries for breakfast almost every day. I think that there is not so much carb that it really matters so much. If there is about 4,5% carb you use it quite quickly when you do enything. And it keeps hunger away a long time, has lots of kalcium and tastes good. |
