Studies spanning from 1998 to 2016 continue to demonstrate the Zone Diet is the most effective way to reverse pre-diabetes and help manage diabetes.
Diabetes is a growing epidemic in the United States, with 88 million Americans suffering from pre-diabetes alone. Not only is this a health burden, but also a financial burden as healthcare costs due to diabetes are at an all time high. At the root of diabetes is increased insulin resistance, when the body is no longer is able to respond appropriately to insulin and blood sugar levels begin to rise. This build-up has been associated with increased inflammation, which can be attributed to either excess calories or excess carbohydrates.
As an alternative to costly drugs, which come with undesirable side effects, the Zone Diet (a calorie-restricted diet consisting of 40% low glycemic carbohydrates, 30% low-fat protein, and 30% fat primarily monounsaturated fat). Created by Dr. Barry Sears, the diet first came on the scene in 1995 with his first book, New York Times #1 best-seller The Zone (available at

The Zone Diet has been used in numerous clinical studies with proven results
To date there are 27 clinical studies that demonstrate the Zone Diet is superior in managing diabetes and inflammation compared to other low calorie diets containing either higher or lower carbohydrate levels.
Diabetes Care (1998) showed a calorie-restricted 40-30-30 diet (the Zone Diet) could reduce insulin resistance in just four days alone. This was even before any weight loss had been observed.
Joslin Diabetes Research Institute (2008) reported that following the same 40-30-30 diet reduces HbA1c levels in diabetic patients. This was in conjunction with a reduction of their medication usage, further proving the effectiveness of the diet in being used as an integral part of any diabetes management program.
BMJ Open Diabetes Research Care (2016) demonstrated there was a 100% success rate in reversing pre-diabetes while following the Zone Diet. This was in comparison to a 33% success rate for patients on a similar calorie-restricted diet that was higher in carbohydrates.
Dr. Sears explains, "The clinical evidence from carefully controlled studies has demonstrated the Zone Diet's superiority in long-term fat loss compared to other calorie-restricted diets with either higher or lower carbohydrate contents."
The Zone Diet has also consistently demonstrated through these various clinical trials significant benefits in managing both pre-diabetes and diabetes. From losing weight to treating chronic diseases, the Zone Diet consistently stands out from all other diets.
About The Zone Diet
The Zone Diet is a nutritional program developed by Dr. Barry Sears, to reduce the levels of diet-induced inflammation. The Zone Diet has been consistently demonstrated in controlled clinical trials to have significant benefits in the reduction of insulin resistance, the primary cause of various chronic diseases.
Ekat Zonet on kirjoitettiin 15 vuotta sitten.
